What is coaching?
Coaching is a professional relationship in which the coach assists, guides and enables clients to achieve a personal goal in one or more areas of their life or work.
Coaching can be carried out individually or in a group, and with a personal and/or professional goal.
At Breeze Life Coaching, the coach:
- Facilitates the exploration of needs, motivations, desires, skills and thought processes to assist the client in achieving his/her personal goal.
- Uses questioning techniques to facilitate the client’s own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions.
- Supports the client in setting S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timed).
- Observes, listens and asks questions to understand the client’s situation.
- Creatively applies tools and techniques including questionnaires, worksheets or training in Mindfulness techniques.
- Encourages the client to make a commitment to action and to the development of lasting personal growth and change.
- Maintains unconditional positive regard for the client, which means that the coach is at all times supportive and non-judgemental of the client, their views, lifestyle and aspirations.
- Enables the client to develop personal competencies to achieve the goal and works with the client to avoid unhealthy dependencies on the coaching or mentoring relationship.
- Ensures that the client feels free to discuss every aspect of an issue or challenge with their coach, including personal problems or private information. All information shared with the coach will be kept confidential (unless it involves criminal activity or affects the safety and welfare of other people).
