Mindfulness at School

The aim of this program is for teachers to understand what the importance is of Mindfulness for their students and class environment and for students to gain these skills and learn how to apply them. The program also aims at lowering personal levels of stress and enhancing awareness and well-being.

The program consists of two parts.

In the first part teachers will receive a training in Mindfulness. This training consists of four weekly sessions of 75 minutes each. This program focuses on the principles of Mindfulness, how it works in the body and explaining the scientific background of why it works. Mindfulness awareness will be trained through guided meditations and mental exercises.

In the second part of this program students are trained to develop a greater Mindful awareness. This training consists of 8 weekly sessions of 40 minutes each. The ability to focus the attention will be trained using mental exercises and guided meditations. These will be adjusted to the age group and development of the students. Preferably the sessions will be attended by the class teacher.
