Mindfulness for Busy People

‘Mindfulness for Busy People’ is a group course, developed by Dr Ira van der Steenstraten. It is based on the critically acclaimed and extensively researched "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction" (MBSR) program, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic, combined with elements of Interpersonal Neurobiology.

In this program the theoretical and neurobiological background of Mindfulness and the neurobiology and anatomy of stress will be addressed. It will explain why Mindfulness is thought to be effective. Guided meditations and mental exercises will be used to train the attention of the participants. 

The aim of the program is to lower levels of stress and enhances awareness and well-being.

The next course is on 14 and 21 July, and 4 and 11 August 2016, 7- 8.30 pm. Location: Cannon Hill.
